From far ends of the globe and of different cultural backgrounds,

Moxie couple Catherine and Menno Van Der Tol met in Guangzhou

China in 2004. Cathy’s background in fashion, Jimmy Choo, Burberry

& Tommy Hilfiger complimented Menno’s expertise in Shoe Development,

Production & Trading for Brands like Dune London, Ninewest, Beefly & Bata

enabled so they were able to start-up in Amsterdam in 2015.

HANDMADE, ITALIAN… but made in the Philippines

In the 70s and 80s, Marikina in the Philippines held the number 2

spot in global shoe exports as attested by its quality and design.

Cathy and Menno managed to find these shoe artisans whose family

are currently engaged in creating customized pairs.

The couple staged a combined a home-operation and factory set-up

that enables the workers to assemble at home and finish in a factory.
