Moxie Shoes Product Care

Each pair of MOXIE shoes is crafted from the finest leathers. Care should be taken when using your shoes. The best way to care for your shoes is to ensure that the leather does not get wet, remain in direct sunlight or get your natural oils on it. Leather sprays to protect your shoes from rain is fine. You will need to reapply from time to time depending on your use and should wait at least an hour for it to dry completely before using your shoes. By stuffing with paper, you can hold the shape of the shoes. Keep in the dust bag to protect from the elements. Humidity can affect leathers though so it is best to keep in a cool dry place to prevent mildew growth.

Napa
Napa is a very soft material and shoes made from it will stretch with time and so we recommend allowance is made for this when selecting your size. Napa is naturally very porous, and therefore coloured creams and moisturizing agents should be avoided as these may leave water marks which are very difficult to remove. Any loose dirt can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately away from direct heat.

Calf Leather
Calf is a relatively strong leather but can still become marked with wear and as with all leather products, will require occasional maintenance. Any loose dirt can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately away from direct heat. We would advise against the use of any cleaning products containing solvents which will affect the surface finishing on the leather. Coloured creams should also be avoided.

Metallic Leather
Please be aware that as with all metallic finishes, with time and abrasion, some surface finishing maybe lost. To maintain the finish of this product, clients should avoid contact with liquids containing alcohol or solvents, as this will remove the colour and finishing. To clean the leather, the product should be gently wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately. We would advise against the use of any cleaning products on this leather. Excess abrasion should also be avoided as once the foil becomes damaged this can not be repaired.

Cow Hair
This is a delicate material and should areas become bald it is impossible to reverse the damage. Hair-on products are naturally prone to thinning or damage caused by friction from wear. This is neither a manufacturer defect nor an issue exclusive to our brand, but simply the nature of consistent wearing of a hair-on shoe. Try to protect from exposure to direct sunlight and excessive heat. To ensure longevity, be gentle with your cow hair item and store it in the protective dust bag provided when not in use. Care should be exercised when cleaning cow hair. Use a damp white cloth and wipe with the hair, and not against the natural lay of the hair. For best results, avoid vigorous rubbing and do not use saddle soap or other leather cleaners. Unfortunately, we are unable to repair or replace hair-on shoes. Please handle with care.

Snake Skin
Special care should be taken with products made from snake skin and with time, use and atmospheric differences some of the scales may lift. This is a natural property of snake skin and unfortunately once this lifting occurs it is not possible to reverse. To clean avoid contact with liquids containing alcohol , the shoe should be gently wiped with a soft dry cloth and dried immediately. We would advise against the use of any cleaning product.
